Stride Lab is a running coaching app for athletes and coaches, available on mobile and on the web. This policy explains what personal data we collect, why, who can see it, and the rights you have over it.
It follows Algerian Law No. 18-07 of 10 June 2018 on the protection of individuals in the processing of personal data.
1. Who is responsible
Stride Lab (“we”, “us”) is responsible for the processing of your data. You can reach us at any time at stridelabdz@gmail.com.
2. What we collect
- Account: your first and last name, email address, password (stored hashed by our login provider) or your Google account if you sign in with Google, your role (athlete or coach), time zone, and, if you choose, your gender and a profile photo.
- Training profile: your goal, level, race date, target times, paces, days you can train, how long you have been running, and the notes you write.
- Health answers: injury notes, current pain, a recent injury, whether a doctor has cleared you to run, and your birth year. See section 4.
- Runs and workouts: when you record a run, its GPS route, distance, duration, pace and, if available, heart rate; your strength sessions, completed or skipped workouts, reflections and race results.
- Coaching: messages between you and your coach, invitations and requests, and for coaches the profile and information submitted for approval.
- Strava (optional): if you connect Strava, the access tokens and the activities Strava shares with us.
- Device: a push notification token, your notification settings, the app language and basic technical logs (for example errors and request times).
- Waitlist: if you join the early-access waitlist on our website, the answers you give in that form.
We do not collect your contacts, your microphone, or your location when you are not recording a run.
3. Why we use it
- To create your account and sign you in.
- To build and adjust your training plan, track your runs and show your progress.
- To connect you with a coach and let you exchange messages.
- To send reminders and notifications you have turned on.
- To keep the service secure, prevent abuse and fix bugs.
- To contact you about the early access programme if you joined the waitlist.
We use your data only for these purposes. We do not sell it, and we do not use it for advertising.
4. Health information
Your health answers and heart rate are sensitive data under Law 18-07. We ask for them only to keep your plan safe, for example to suggest an easier start after an injury. By answering these questions you give your explicit consent to this use.
You can leave the notes empty, change your answers at any time, or withdraw your consent by writing to us. Your plan may then be less suited to you.
6. Where your data is stored
Our providers store and process data on servers outside Algeria, in particular in the European Union and the United States. We choose providers that protect data with encryption and access controls, and we limit what we send them.
7. How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is open. When you delete your account, we delete your personal data within 30 days, except what the law requires us to keep. Copies in backups disappear as the backups are replaced. Technical logs are kept for a short time only.
Waitlist answers are kept until the launch of the app, then deleted unless you create an account.
8. Your rights
Under Law 18-07 you have the right to:
- be informed about how your data is used (this policy);
- access the data we hold about you;
- correct data that is wrong or incomplete;
- object to a use of your data for legitimate reasons, and withdraw your consent;
- delete your account and your data, yourself in the app (Profile → Delete account) or by asking us (see our /delete-account page).
To use these rights, write to stridelabdz@gmail.com from the email address of your account. We answer within 30 days. You can also file a complaint with the Algerian national authority for the protection of personal data (ANPDP).
9. Security
Data is encrypted in transit, your session is stored securely on your phone, and access to our systems is limited to what is needed. No system is perfectly secure; if a breach affects you, we will tell you and the authority as the law requires.
10. Young users
Stride Lab is for people aged 16 and over. If you are under 19, you need the consent of a parent or legal guardian to use it. If we learn that we hold data about a child without that consent, we delete it.
11. Changes
We may update this policy as the app changes. We will show the new date at the top and, for important changes, tell you in the app or by email before they take effect.
